Did you know that 40% of Aussie Pooch franchisees were once customers, just like you, and say that buying a franchise was one of the best decisions they’d ever made?
“I had been a customer for around eight years before buying a franchise myself two years ago,†says John Fyfe. “The major factor in becoming a franchisee is that I wanted a job I loved doing. I was also influenced by my love of dogs, that I would be my own boss and that my ‘outdoors’ office was the trailer. What more could you want?â€
It makes sense that more and more customers are joining the Aussie Pooch team.
“As a customer you obviously love your dog, and most dog lovers enjoy the outdoors, you have a perfect understanding of what customers expect from their Aussie Pooch operator, so are already armed with the perfect qualifications to become an operator yourself,†says Aussie Pooch Mobile Founder, Chris Taylor.
After only one visit from his Aussie Pooch operator, Craig Howard was hooked.
“I had been looking for a new career because I was unhappy in my job of 14 years,†explains Craig. “I bought the franchise in 2011 and haven’t looked back. I have three dogs of my own, so was familiar with dogs. What I like about Aussie Pooch is there is good support from the parent company and the hours and money are great.â€
The Aussie Pooch team is diverse, and being a franchisee is suitable for almost everyone.
“We have a franchisee who is 20 and a franchisee who is 70,†says Chris. “Male, female, single mums and dad’s, husband and wife teams and former highflying executives who are tired of the rat race – the one thing they all have in common is they want a job which they truly love, a job that is fun, where going to work every day is a joy, not a chore.â€
So if you are thinking about a change of job, or are just embarking on your career, you love dogs, would love to work outdoors, want to work your own hours, be your own boss and be financially rewarded, it sounds like you would be the perfect franchisee. You will only wish you had done it sooner.
“After 12 months of being a customer, Paul and I decided to buy a franchise,†says Megan Walters. “As we were new to the industry having such a good support network in place helped in our decision, as was the ability to be self-employed and work as a team. It’s a great work/life balance for us.
“I would suggest to anyone considering becoming a franchisee to talk to other franchisees, and go out on the road with a couple of operators to get a feel of what the job entails.â€
